Learn how to cut high costs of college

A free workshop titled "9 Ways To Beat The High Cost Of College" will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Mundelein High School, 1350 W. Hawley St., Mundelein; Sept. 20 at the Jewett Park Community Center, 836 Jewett Park Drive, Deerfield; and Sept. 27 at the Warren Newport Public Library, 224 N. O'Plaine Road in Gurnee. The workshop will cover topics including how to increase eligibility for financial aid; how to locate and apply for need-based scholarships, grants and low-interest loans; and how to pick the colleges that will give the best financial aid packages.
