Another Warren student pleads guilty in drug case
A former Warren Township High School student accused of selling drugs to a police officer who posed as a student at the school pleaded guilty Wednesday.
Craig Jensen, 18, was placed on probation for two years after he admitted selling two pills that contained amphetamine to the officer.
Jensen was one of four students arrested at the school's Almond Road campus April 18 after a weeks-long investigation.
Jensen, of 34990 N. Carvis, Lake Villa Township, admitted selling the pills to the officer Feb. 13.
Andrew Rios, 17, of 6647 Foxworth Lane, Gurnee, is charged with selling the officer small amounts of marijuana Feb. 21 and March 15.
Ryan Gaines, 17, of 18612 Hickory Place, Wildwood, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of marijuana sales July 23, and was placed on court supervision.
A fourth student charged in the probe is a juvenile whose case is pending in juvenile court.
All of the students charged were suspended from the school for the next two calendar years, effectively ending their careers there.
Jensen was also fined $500 as part of his plea negotiation.
Assistant State's Attorney James Bertucci said if Jensen completes his probation without getting into further trouble, the record of his conviction will be erased.
Rios is due to appear in court Oct. 2.
