Sherman cannot alter this truth
I'd like to thank Venetia L. Miles, representing High School District 214, for her letter to the editor ("Homecoming story needs clarification," Fence Post, Sept. 23). Her explanation of how the song "God Bless America" was ultimately not chosen for homecoming week at Buffalo Grove High School certainly gave readers a different perspective than the headline story of 9/20 did.
I also have a comment I'd like to address to Mr. Rob Sherman, and it is this: You can correctly attribute your daughter's comment(s) during the student council meeting as contributing to their final decision. You cannot, however, give her the credit you did when you stated, "My daughter got God banned from homecoming this year."
Sorry Rob, no one can change, add, or take away from any of God's attributes, including his omnipresence. Nothing you or I (or anyone else, for that matter) believes can change that absolute truth.
