Build a winning hand at Batavia Poker Pub Crawl

Batavia MainStreet and the Batavia Chamber of Commerce will have their fourth annual Batavia Poker Pub Crawl from 6 p.m. to midnight Saturday.

Participating downtown Batavia establishments include The Venice Tavern (31 N. River St.) from 6 to 7:30 p.m., O'Brien's Pub and Grill (12 N. River St.) from 7:30 to 9 p.m., Full Moon Bar & Grill (113 S. Batavia Ave) from 9 to 10:30 p.m. and Fox Grill (35 N. Water St.) from 10:30 p.m. until midnight.

Tickets are now on sale for $5 each at the Batavia MainStreet office at 2 E. Wilson (upstairs), Sue's Family Hair Co. (139 S Batavia Ave) and the Batavia Chamber of Commerce (160 W Wilson St). Buying tickets early is encouraged to insure participation and entitles each adult to express registration at The Venice Tavern. Tickets are also available online at the Batavia MainStreet Store at www.downtownbatavia.com by clicking on "Shop Batavia" and at the door from 6 to 7:30 at Venice Tavern if still available.

The event is for adults 21 and over and is limited to 250 participants.

A poker card is drawn at each of the four locations and patrons must visit all four establishments in sequence to develop their poker hand. One additional poker card may be drawn at one of the last three stops to reach five cards and one additional card per location may be purchased for $1 after discarding.

"Best Hands" are shown at 11:15 p.m. at The Fox Grill with cash prizes for the top hands. A 50/50 raffle is also scheduled for the crawl with other giveaways part of the evening's fun.

Additionally MainStreet volunteers will be honored at a Poker Pub Crawl pre-party from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Venice Tavern loft area. MainStreet volunteers should RSVP to (630) 761-3518 to reserve a space for the free annual thank you event.
