Tired of hearing CTA beg for money
I am sick and tired, as a CTA daily rider, of the CTA complaining that they don't have enough money. Well it's time to raise fares, eliminate routes and run the organization like a business.
On my way to catch the Metra at Ravenswood and Lawrence each morning I try to time catching the bus so I won't have to walk seven blocks or catch a cab. The buses are on all different types of schedules and are never consistent. Then there is a bus stop every 200-300 feet. Why is this, are they nuts?
On Monday, when it was raining, I was doing the reverse from Ravenswood to Sheridan down Lawrence and had to walk all the way home because there weren't any buses. Thirty-five minutes and no buses. Not even a bus that is coordinated with the Metra ... oh, that's right; they're part of the RTA, Regional Truancy Authority, so why should I have high expectations?
I did see nine buses in my 35 minutes going west on Lawrence, and they were in bunches. This is the fifth time I've seen this happen in the last two months, and I'm looking for alternatives.
CTA, you can't cater to everyone; just do your job right for once!
