Carpentersville
• A Carpentersville man was accused Wednesday of using false identification and might be deported, police said. Cesar Duran, also known as Arnold Zuniga, 30, of 11 Hickory Drive, was charged with forgery and obstruction of justice, police said. Duran reportedly bought a false birth certificate in Carpentersville five years ago for $1,500, and also has been using a false Social Security number, officials said. Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed a hold on Duran, who was being held in the Kane County jail on $5,000 bond. Kane County Judge Susan Clancy Boles told Duran that since he is not a U.S. citizen, he could be deported if he is convicted of either charge. His court date is Oct. 11 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
• A Carpentersville man was arrested late Wednesday on a warrant, police said. Miguel Munoz-Garcia, 27, of 145 Austin Ave., was charged on the warrant with drunken driving, police said. Munoz-Garcia was being held in the Kane County jail on $1,500 bond with an Oct. 11 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.
Elgin
• An Elgin man was arrested on retail theft and other charges at 1:45 a.m. Wednesday on College Green Drive, police said. Robert G. Danekas, 38, of 615 S. Liberty St. (upper), was charged with two counts of retail theft, obstruction of justice, driving while license suspended, no insurance and no rear registration light, police said. Danekas also was wanted on a warrant for driving while license suspended, police said. Danekas was being held on a total bond of $7,700 and has court dates Oct. 5 in Elgin and Oct. 12 in St. Charles.
• A Carpentersville man was arrested on a number of charges after fighting with officers responding to a domestic dispute at 2:45 a.m. Thursday on Wellington Avenue, police said. Calief L. Harris, 20, of 393 Wellington Ave. Apt. 3, was charged with aggravated battery, resisting a police officer and possession of marijuana after he spit at and kicked four police officers, police said. One officer had to be treated at Sherman Hospital. Harris was held in the Kane County jail on $4,000 bond with an Oct. 11 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.
• An Elgin man was arrested late Wednesday on four warrants, police said. Francisco Olvera, 26, of 204 S. Liberty St., was charged on the warrants with drunken driving, unlawful use of a blackjack or knife, aggravated assault and obstruction of justice, police said. Olvera was held in the Kane County jail on a total of $8,900 in bonds with Oct. 5 and Oct. 10 court dates in Elgin and St. Charles.
South Elgin
• A South Elgin man Wednesday was accused of trying to pass a false prescription for a painkilling drug at a pharmacy Aug. 21, police said. Matthew R. McCullough, 31, of 265 S. Collins St., was charged with possession of a prescription form, police said. McCullough posted a $300 bond and was given an Oct. 2 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.
West Dundee
• A West Dundee man was accused of drunken driving at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday at Second and Main streets, police said. Steven M. Brown, 45, of 437 Cavalier Court #312, was charged with driving while license suspended, police said. His bond was set at $750 with an Oct. 12 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.
