Volo museum to host annual car corral
The sixth annual Fall Car Corral and Festival will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 29; with rain date the next day, at Volo Auto Museum, 27582 W. Volo Village Road.
The Volo Auto Museum will donate valuable retail space to anyone selling a collector car at its Fall Car Corral and Festival Sept. 29. Call (815) 385-3644 to check for event updates.
The car corral takes place in conjunction with the Volo Antique Malls Fall Festival in the Park, which will feature more than 75 antique, collectible, art and craft vendors. Visitors also will enjoy music, catered food from Bobby's Barrel Inn, a beer garden, trivia games and door prizes.
The museum's spring and fall car corrals are much-anticipated among auto enthusiasts.
"Our spring car corral attracted over 200 quality cars," said museum founder Greg Grams. "Many ended up with new owners. If you bring a good car and price it accordingly, you will sell your car."
The free outdoor events are the museum's way of thanking its patrons.
"It's the ultimate customer appreciation celebration --open to everyone, and it's all free," Grams said.
Cars sold in all price categories at the spring event, with several going for under $20,000 and at least two in the $80,000 range, including a 1967 Plymouth GTX hemi and a 1955 Chevy Bel Air, Grams said.
The outdoor fall car corral and festival is free to the public and car sellers. Museum admission is separate and optional. Admission is $9 for adults; $7 for seniors, veterans with Veterans Universal Access ID and active personnel with military ID; $5 for children ages 5 to 12; and free for children younger than 5 and military personnel in uniform. Group rates are available.
