Group spreading word on disease seeks volunteers

The National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders, headquartered in north suburban Highland Park, offers a variety of volunteer opportunities. Currently, ANAD is seeking volunteer assistance to staff its telephone hot-line and e-mail referral services, which link sufferers to a network of support groups, therapists, physicians, nutritionists and inpatient and outpatient programs specializing in the treatment of eating disorders.

Full training is provided for all new hot line counselors, and flexible schedules are available. In addition, ANAD is seeking volunteers interested in assisting with advocacy, fundraising and special events.
