Geneva crews to pick up storm trash
The City of Geneva is scheduling extra trash pickups for residents looking to get rid of flood-damaged items.
Call (630) 232-1501 to arrange pickup. The trash will be collected Thursday and Friday.
Refuse should be placed at the curb. Tree limbs and wood should be kept separate from carpet, drywall and other debris. Garbage stickers are not required.
If necessary, additional pickups might continue next week.
Meanwhile, brush is being picked up by city crews. Regularly scheduled brush pickup might be delayed due to the additional storm debris pickup.
•Batavia scheduled an extra brush pickup for the whole town this week.
•Campton Hills officials are asking residents to cut trees and branches to a manageable size and pile it near the road. They can call Campton Township Highway Commissioner Sam Gallucci at (630) 365-9300 or village hall at (630) 584-5700 to schedule a pickup.
•In St. Charles, public works officials said they were able to haul away most tree debris Friday and Saturday. Other flooding-related garbage, such as rugs or small appliances, should be put out with the trash for regular collection.
