Bartlett library to host ice cream social

The Bartlett Public Library District, 800 S. Bartlett Road, will host an old-fashioned ice cream social from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The $2 admission includes ice cream, cookies and entertainment. There will carnival games and prizes, and entertainment by Joel Frankel's Musical Merriment at 1:30 and 3 p.m.

The social is sponsored by the Friends of the Bartlett Library, a volunteer organization. The Friends raise funds throughout the year with its perpetual book sale in the library lobby and membership fees. The group sponsors several library programs, as well as funding for other library needs.

Donations of used books, magazines and audiovisual items are always welcome. There is a bin located in the library lobby for donations. Tax receipts for donations are available at the circulation desk.
