Elgin

•An argument with a conductor on a Metra train at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday landed an Elgin woman in jail, police said. The conductor said the woman used profane and abusive language and threatened him with bodily harm, police said. Elizabeth Meutter-Elahmer, 30, of 361 Jewett St., was charged with disorderly conduct, police said. She also was wanted on a Kane County warrant for home invasion. Bond for Meutter-Elahmer was set at $500 on the home invasion charge and she was released on recognizance on the disorderly conduct charge. She remained in the Kane County jail Wednesday. Her court date in Elgin is Aug. 31.

•While having an argument with a relative about a carpet that was thrown away, a man pushed another man onto some cement, police said. The victim suffered a broken arm, a fractured wrist and a fractured thumb, police said. Duane A. Swimley, 42, of 514 S. State St., Elgin, was charged with aggravated domestic battery, police said. Swimley posted a $3,000 bond Wednesday and was released with an Aug. 15 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.

West Dundee

•A man was driving south on Carrington Drive at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday when he saw his wife's car in the northbound lane, police said. He swerved his car into her lane, she swerved left and the two cars collided. Arnel S. Cecilio, 29, of 7356 Grandview Court, Carpentersville, was charged in court Wednesday with aggravated battery, police said. He also was cited by West Dundee police for reckless driving and driving left of center, police said. Cecilio posted a $2,000 bond and was released with an Aug. 15 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.
