Police beat: Money taken from purse
Geneva
•Forty dollars was taken out of a purse in a break room of a store in the 700 block of Commons Drive between 1:30 and 6 p.m. Sunday.
•A pair of prescription sunglasses valued at $100 were stolen out of an unlocked Chevy S-10 pickup truck between 9:30 p.m. Monday and 2 p.m. Tuesday while the truck was parked in a driveway in the 200 block of Woodlawn Street.
North Aurora
•Kevin D. Richardson, 40, of 19 S. East Ave., Aurora, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended or revoked license after a traffic stop at River and Butterfield roads at 11:30 p.m. Aug. 8, according to a police report.
Kane County
•Daniel D. Steffen, 21, of 2171 Niagara Court, Elgin, was arrested at 12:54 a.m. Saturday and charged with drunken driving, improper lane usage and driving without insurance after crashing into a ditch in the area of 14N400 Route 20, Rutland Township, police said.
•An estimated $1,200 in damage was done Friday or Saturday at a house under construction in the area of 6N494 Roosevelt Road, St. Charles Township. A vent was kicked in, and a door and window were destroyed.
•Police issued a charge of failure to register as a sex offender Monday against Ron J. Spohn, 39, according to a report. Police were unable to locate Spohn at Geneva Motel, 33W209 Route 38, Geneva Township, where he was last known to reside, police said.
•Telephone harassment was reported Wednesday by a resident at 34W870 Clyde Court, St. Charles Township.
•Several electronic items valued at $3,110 were stolen between July 22 and 25 from a house at 43W858 Route 64, Campton Township.
•Fraud was reported Monday after a man at 3N753 E. Laura Ingalls Wilder Road, Campton Township, after his credit card was used to make $79 in charges.
•Four mailboxes valued at $140 were damaged Sunday or Monday on Seavey Road in Blackberry Township.
•Telephone harassment was reported Tuesday by a resident at 39W703 Deer Run Drive, Campton Township.
St. Charles
•Heather M. Pinanci, 28, of 507E S. 19th St., was arrested at 12:52 p.m. Monday and charged with retail theft after stealing two pairs of jeans valued at $413 from Von Maur, 3810 E. Main St., police said.
