Police beat: Mountain bike stolen

Geneva

•A blue Diamondback boys mountain bicycle valued at $250 was taken from the yard of a home in the 700 block of Lancaster Lane between 10:30 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday.

•A $2,000 Schwinn men's black 26-inch "Rocket 88" mountain bicycle was taken off the porch of a ground-floor apartment in the 300 block of Brittany Court. It was unlocked and hanging on a hook.

Kane County

•Mail was stolen from a mailbox about 10:30 p.m. Saturday at 6N772 Tuscola Ave., St. Charles Township.

•The theft of $1,500 was reported Saturday at 41W520 Lenz Road, Plato Township.

•A hit-and-run crash was reported at 12:39 p.m. Aug. 7 after a motorist's vehicle was rear-ended at Kirk Road and Route 38, Geneva Township.

•Fraud was reported Thursday at 48W529 Immelman Lane, Hampshire Township, after a resident learned his credit card was used to buy a $77.51 wedding band.

•Fraud was reported Saturday at 38W304 Yaupon Court, St. Charles Township, after a resident learned her credit card was used to make $2,087.71 in purchases.

•A mailbox and post valued at $200 were damaged between 8 a.m. Friday and noon Sunday at 1228 Woodland Ave., Batavia Township.

•Telephone threats were reported Sunday by a resident at 5N872 Timber Trail, Campton Township.

•The theft of $560 from a van at the Kane County Sheriff's office, 777 E. Fabyan Parkway, Geneva Township, was reported Monday.

•A mailbox valued at $15 was damaged Sunday or Monday at 1S934 Deerpath Road, Batavia Township.

•A citizens band radio and microphone valued at $350 were stolen between 5 p.m. Friday and 3:30 a.m. Monday from a vehicle at 37W309 Keslinger Road, Geneva Township. About $25 in damage was done to the vehicle during the burglary.

St. Charles

•Garrett C. Marquis, 33, of 1529 Cottonwood Trail, Yorkville, was arrested at 11:43 p.m. Sunday and charged with battery and two counts of resisting police, according to a report. Marquis was arrested on the 100 block of Indiana Street after jumping into the Fox River, police said. He is accused of becoming combative with officers. Marquis was taken to Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva, then released on his own recognizance with a Sept. 27 court date.

•Michael T. Teamer, 40, of 634 N. St. Louis, Chicago, was arrested at 9:46 p.m. Saturday and charged with failure to secure a child younger than age 8 in a safety seat and driving without a valid license on the 4000 block of East Main Street, police said. Teamer was released on $1,000 bond with a Sept. 27 court date.

•Karl R. Albers, 19, of 104 N. Prairie St., Batavia, was arrested at 11:09 p.m. Saturday and charged with drunken driving, improper lane usage, driving without insurance and illegal transportation of alcohol on the 1800 block of East Main Street, police said. Albers was released on $3,000 bond with a Sept. 26 court date.

•A yellow, black and silver Mongoose bicycle, valued at $100, was stolen Thursday or Friday from outside Lazarus House, 214 Walnut St.

•Michael R. Baker, 23, of 753 Highland Ave., Elgin, was arrested at 10:25 p.m. Thursday and charged with public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting police on the 100 block of South First Avenue, according to a report. Baker was released on $1,000 bond with a Sept. 13 court date.
