Algonquin

•An Elgin man was accused of shoplifting at 6 p.m. Monday at Target, 750 S. Randall Road, police said. Dukuzumuremyi Spates, 18, of 520 Aller Ave. was charged with retail theft. He was released after posting a $100 bond. His next court date is on Aug. 29 in Woodstock.

•A South Elgin man was arrested at 1:45 p.m. Thursday during a traffic stop, police said. Eric Minehart, 38, of 300 Stone St., South Elgin, was wanted on a South Elgin warrant for failure to appear in court for no driver's license, police said. Minehart posted a $200 bond and was released with a Sept. 17 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.

Carpentersville

•A Carpentersville man was charged with stealing a white Impala and leading police on a chase at 3:45 a.m. Thursday, police said. Devon L. Richmond, 18, of 101 Caddy Ave., was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and two counts of aggravated fleeing and eluding, police said. He also was cited for nine offenses, police said. Richmond was unable to post a $6,000 bond and was taken to the Kane County Judicial Center. His next court date is on Aug. 17 at the Kane County Judicial Center.

•A Carpentersville man was accused of stealing $31.11 worth of unpaid batteries, corn chips and motor oil from a local gas station at 1 p.m. Thursday, police said. Marco V. Rodriguez, 44, of 13 Livingston Drive, was charged with felony retail theft, police said. He had his charge enhanced because he was convicted of residential burglary several years ago, police said. Rodriguez posted a $1,000 bond and was released from custody Friday. His next court date is on Aug. 16 at the Kane County Judicial Center.

Elgin

•An Elgin man was charged with having a fraudulent vehicle registration sticker early Saturday, police said. Jeffrey J. Miller, 41, of 920 Brook St., was charged with possession of an altered registration and cited for driving while license revoked, police said. Miller posted a $2,500 bond and was released Friday. His next court date is on Aug. 20 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
