Finale for Chord on Blues

A struggling St. Charles blues venue plans to close for good tonight, with Grammy nominee Tab Benoit singing its swan song. Benoit is scheduled to take the stage at 9 p.m. for a "Last Waltz" concert at Chord on Blues, 106 S. First Ave. "There's no better way to close the books," club manager Steve Chapman said Friday. "Tab's probably put more people in here in the last five years than anybody." After 10 years of drawing internationally acclaimed musicians, Chord on Blues began a slow collapse amid financial difficulties last year. Admission tonight is $15. Doors open at 6 p.m.
