Doctors' morale low

Doctors' morale low:

In a memo leaked to a local radio station, the chairman of Stroger Hospital's internal medicine department says staff cuts have hurt morale so much that as many as three-fourths of the internists may quit, according to ABC 7 Chicago. Cook County health officials acknowledged Monday the morale problems outlined by Dr. Avery Hart, adding that problems will get worse if the state does not come up with $100 million to shore up the budget. But they said they do not believe the internal medicine department is on the verge of collapse. Officials at the hospital are meeting this week to come up with a plan to keep doctors from quitting, ABC 7 reported.
