Capuano and Brewers agree to minor league contract
MILWAUKEE -- Pitcher Chris Capuano stayed with the Milwaukee Brewers, agreeing to a minor league contract Tuesday after the team let him go last week.
The left-hander became a free agent when Milwaukee failed to offer a contract by Friday's deadline. That got him off the 40-man roster.
Capuano missed last season after injuring his pitching elbow in an exhibition game in March. The 30-year-old decided to try rehabilitation rather than surgery but never returned.
Capuano won 18 games in 2005 and made the NL All-Star team in 2006. He started 5-0 in 2007 but lost his last 12 decisions.
