Bradley president says she has breast cancer

PEORIA _ Bradley University President Joanna Glasser says she has breast cancer and will start treatment early next year.

Glasser said in a letter e-mailed to university faculty and others on Wednesday that doctors found the cancer early. She says they're confident she can make a complete recovery.

Glasser, who is 57, says she had surgery last week. She says she'll cut back on travel after her radiation treatment begins.

Bradley made Glasser its 10th president in August 2007. She is the private school's first woman president.
