Palatine employees help Toys for Tots

For the past eight years, village of Palatine employees have collected toys for the U.S. Marine Corps' Toys for Tots Campaign.

But this year, they partnered with Marion Jordan School and Palatine American Legion Post 690 to collect more than three truckloads of toys.

The toys collected will be distributed to children in the Northwest Metropolitan area by the Woodfield Area Children's Organization.

The community came together for this cause.

Marion Jordan School Principal Dana Petersen encouraged students to participate in the campaign. The local Wal-Mart gave money and opened their store early to shop for the toys, and several Palatine-area businesses donated goods and services.
