Get off the phone and pay attention
At 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, I was driving northbound on Arlington Heights Road just south of Golf Road. I noticed an ambulance pulling out of the Arlington Heights fire station with lights, siren and horn blasting, trying to get onto Arlington Heights Road.
All northbound traffic stopped right away and gradually the southbound traffic stopped, except for one lady in a minivan gaily chatting on her cell phone and completely unaware of her surroundings.
C'mon lady, give them a break. Maybe someday they will be delayed coming to your aid because of some idiot on a cell phone.
