School's Irish Fest set for three-day run

St. Catherine of Siena will have its annual Irish Fest this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Now in its 11th year, the festivities will take place on the school site, 845 W. Main St., West Dundee, routes 31 and 72. Admission is $8 daily ($6 for seniors) or $21 for a three-day pass. Children ages 12 and younger get in free with a paid adult admission.

Entertainment: The entertainment lineup includes new talent as well as favorites.

Ceili Dancing is scheduled at 7:15 p.m. Saturday in the indoor stage. Admission to the Ceili dance is free with regular paid admission.

Friday: Gates open at 5 p.m. for food and shopping, outside.

Wee Folks: Games, crafts, and entertainment await your little ones as Wee Folks are moved into the air-conditioned indoor area.

The Wee Folk Area will be open from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The price for Wee Folk activities is $3 or three tickets. Admission includes Blarney Bingo, musical entertainment, games, crafts and Irish Jig lessons.

Irish Jig Jog: The Irish Jig Jog, a 1-mile fun run, 5K and 10K race to benefit St. Catherine of Siena School, will be Saturday.

The race, which begins and ends at St. Catherine's School at routes 31 and 72 in West Dundee, has attracted participants from babies in strollers to serious competitive runners.
