Man dies in crash at Naperville cemetery

A man died after crashing a vehicle into a tree in a Naperville cemetery Monday.

Naperville police responded to the single-vehicle crash near Hillside Road and Main Street about 5:21 p.m., police said.

Police said the vehicle was going south on Main Street, failed to stop at the intersection of Hillside, continued over a curb and through a fence into Naperville Cemetery where it hit a tree and came to rest.

The unidentified man - the only occupant of the vehicle - was found unconscious and not responsive when officials arrived on the scene, police said. He was later pronounced dead at Edward Hospital in Naperville.

Police declined to release the driver's name late Monday citing notification of next of kin.
