One hurt in Prospect Heights garage fire that destroyed antique cars, multiple motorcycles

One person was hurt in a garage fire Wednesday afternoon in Prospect Heights.

Firefighters were called to a home on the 1100 block of Stratford Road just before 3 p.m. for a report of a fire in the detached garage at the back of the property.

Fire officials said a resident of the home, who had been working in the garage when the fire erupted, was injured. He was transported to Northwest Community Hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown.

The fire gutted the garage and destroyed to antique cars and several motorcycles, fire officials said.

A damage estimate was not immediately available.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
