Best & brightest

• Samantha Goudreau, daughter of Steven and Kelly Goudreau of Round Lake, an accounting and business administration major at Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Ind., was awarded the Bridget Anderson/KPMG Award which recognizes an accounting junior for excellence in the "Principles of Accounting" course sequence. She is a graduate of Lake Forest Academy in Lake Forest.

• Steven Midday, son of Gary and Chris Midday of Lake Zurich, received the Tri-State Initiative Scholarship Award for $500 from University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He is a 2008 graduate of Lake Zurich High School.

• Abigail C. Holicky of Hawthorn Woods was recognized as a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda National Leadership and Honors Organization at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

• Andrew Wright, son of Buddy and Laurie Wright of Lake Zurich, a 2007 graduate of Lake Zurich High School now attending Harper College, was inducted into Kappa Beta Delta, an international honor society for business students. Andrew will graduate with his associate degree in communications this spring.
