Abduction attempt reported in Bensenville

Bensenville police on Tuesday reported an attempted child abduction occurred Monday afternoon in a residential neighborhood.

Police said the attempted abduction took place about 3:30 p.m. on the 300 block of North Spruce Avenue. A white man, about 50 years old, attempted to lure the 9-year-old boy to get into his vehicle, described as a white cargo-style van with red rims, according to a police safety alert.
