Fog closes Midway Airport; cots coming for stranded
Chicago officials say all airlines have canceled flights to and from Midway Airport because of thick fog that's causing low visibility.
Aviation Department spokeswoman Karen Pride says more than 82 flights were canceled Friday evening and airlines have asked the city to bring in 300 cots for travelers stranded at the airport.
The flights canceled amount to 14 percent of all traffic at Midway on Friday.
The city says there are more than 400 cancelations at O'Hare International Airport. And delays at the nation's second busiest airport are up to 90 minutes.
