ISU tops Morehead St. 76-70

NORMAL -- Champ Oguchi had 25 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead Illinois State to a 76-70 victory over Morehead State on Sunday, keeping the Redbirds undefeated.

Lloyd Philips had 18 points and Emmanuel Holloway added 13 points for Illinois State (9-0), which held a tight 38-37 edge going into halftime. Morehead State (3-7) found itself dipping into its bench, losing Leon Buchanan, Maze Stallworth and Robert Murry to fould trouble in the second period.

Murry led Morehead State with 20 points. Buchanan and Kenneth Faried each had 12 points and Demonte Harper added ten points.

Illinois State capitalized on Morehead State's mistakes, scoring 22 points on 17 Eagle turnovers.

Morehead State's shooting fell off in the second period to 37.1 percent from 56 percent in the first half.

It was a flip-flop game, with the lead changing 15 times. Morehead State led by as many as five points and Illinois State by as many as seven.
