Exams continue at WIU; campus 'quiet' after threat
MACOMB -- Campus officials say Western Illinois University students are taking finals as scheduled, despite a threatening note found this week in the school's library.
WIU President Al Goldfarb said Thursday that an investigation into the note isn't over. He says students and employees are vigilant and there's increased security.
The note found Wednesday read: "You think you stopped the massacre Never can be sure. 3 p.m. Tomorrow," and the other side said "Bang."
The university's alert system notified more than 16,000 faculty, staff and students.
School officials say people who contribute information leading to an arrest could be eligible to get a $1,000 reward through the "Stop the Threat Fund." Goldfarb and his wife have contributed an additional $500 reward.
