St. Charles is selling glass ornaments

The 18th annual edition of the "Christmas in St. Charles" collectors' ornaments are now available at the St. Charles History Museum Gift Shop.

This year the glass ornament features an image of the Blue Goose Market, which was located on West Main Street. The ornament is a blue glass bulb with a photo of the West Main Street location in frosty white. This building was the second of the four locations of the supermarket.

The ornament is also available for purchase at the front counter of the Blue Goose Market, Grimm's Hallmark East and West, and The Third Street Shops and sells for $10.

Ornaments from previous years (1992 - 2007) also can be purchased for $15 each or in a complete set for $135 at the Museum Gift Shop. All proceeds from the sale benefit the mission of the St. Charles Heritage Center to Collect, Preserve and Present the History of St. Charles and St. Charles Township.

The St. Charles Heritage Center operates two historic sites, the St. Charles History Museum and Gift Shop, 215 E Main St., and the Dunham-Hunt House, 304 E. Cedar Ave.

The Museum and Gift Shop are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays. For details, call the Heritage Center at (630) 584-6967 or visit stcmuseum.org.
