Drop off donations at Toys for Tots

The Marine Corps League Elgin Detachment 077, in partnership with Elgin Township, has designated Elgin Township office, 729 S. McLean Blvd. as a Toys for Tots drop off center. Only new unwrapped toys will be accepted through Monday, Dec. 15. The building is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Dundee-Crown Junior Chargers Youth Football Organization is accepting nominations for 2009 board of directors. Available positions include president, vice president, treasurer, and corporate sponsor. Nominations must be in by today. Term for each board position is two years. Visit Cary's Santa House Saturday

On Saturday, Dec. 6, the Cary Lions Club presents Santa's House, 400 Cary Algonquin Road. Santa will ride around town on a fire truck from 9 to 10 a.m., with a break from 10 to 10:30 a.m. so that he will be ready for visits at the Cary Fire Station No. 1 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pictures are available for $4 and giant coloring books will be on sale for $7. Special thanks to the Cary Fire Department for all their help and support.
