Mundelein cops find stolen SUV

A silver Chevy Tahoe that was stolen early Monday morning while warming up in the driveway of a Mundelein home was found by police six hours later, officials said.

Officials sent out a bulletin to all police departments asking to keep an eye out for the Tahoe, taken from a driveway at about 6:40 a.m. in the 200 block of Longwood Avenue, officials said.

The vehicle was running and unlocked when it was stolen, officials said.

The Tahoe was discovered at about 12:45 p.m., about three miles from where it was stolen, officials said. However, the offenders were not discovered with the truck and remain at large.

Officials said the truck will be returned to the owner when police are finished checking it for evidence.

Anyone with information about the theft should contact the Mundelein Police Department at (847) 968-4600.
