Aurora man shot during argument, police say

Aurora Police are investigating the shooting of a 23-year-old Aurora man that took place following an argument on the city's far east side Wednesday night.

The shooting took place outside a residence in the 1100 Block of Brockton Court shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday, said Lt. Paul Nelson of the Aurora Police Department.

Nelson said the alleged shooter has turned himself into police and that charges are expected to be filed later this morning.

Nelson said officers arrived on the scene to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound to one of his legs. He was taken from the scene via ambulance to the Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. He is listed in stable condition.

Police learned during the investigation the victim was shot in the front of the residence following an argument with two subjects. Following the shooting, the alleged gunman fled the scene with another male in a black four-door car.

Nelson said during the investigation, the alleged voluntarily entered the police station and turned himself in.
