Elmhurst cops searching for restaurant thief

Elmhurst police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a theft Monday at Marco's Table restaurant.

Police said the man entered the business at 130 N. York St. at 3:24 p.m., leaned over the counter and removed money from the cash register. He then fled on foot.

Police said they are looking for a black man in his late teens or early 20s who was carrying a box of candy bars and wearing a tan coat, gray or tan pants and a cap with a brim. The thief has a medium build and stands slightly over 6 feet tall.
