Focus on the issues, not Obama's puppy

After reading "Obama Must Adopt a Shelter Puppy," I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. The fact that this individual chooses to write about Obama's new dog over all the other issues our nation is currently facing is ridiculous. Why would the Daily Herald waste time printing this article? I found it so laughable that I brought it up to my high school students, who have been learning about our current economic crisis, and asked them what they thought. Thankfully they had enough common sense to see over "Obama dog mania," and look at the real issues.

In a nation that is facing the worst economic crisis in decades, Obama has yet to do anything or prove himself to anyone. People are so caught up in "Obama mania" that they are blind to the fact he is all talk and no game. Before I go out and buy my Obama plaque (conveniently located on the other side of the paper), I will wait for him to do something and prove himself to the country. I wish more people would wake up and see that he has yet to do anything for this country and urge them to stop collecting Obama memorabilia until he does.
