Injury accident closes I-290 lanes near Bensenville

Police and rescue crews are on the scene of an accident on I-290 near North Avenue - approaching York Road - near Bensenville.

Officials said three lanes have been closed on the expressway after a car became wedged under a semi-truck in the southbound lanes.

The driver of the red car had to be extracted from the vehicle by fire officials. The person was transported to a nearby hospital.

Police officials have not released details of the accident or how the car became wedged under the trailer of the semi.
