Tennessee St. tops N. Illinois 75-73

NASHVILLE, Tenn. _ Jerrell Houston made a layup with five seconds remaining to give Tennessee State a 75-73 victory over Northern Illinois on Friday night. Houston led the Tigers with 27 points and 11 rebounds.

Tennessee State (1-2) also received help from Gerald Robinson Jr., who contributed 18 points and eight rebounds.

Mike DiNunno scored 15 points to lead the Huskies (2-2), and Darion Anderson chipped in with 12 points. Both DiNunno and Anderson shot 4-for-17 from the field.

After Houston's game-winning basket, the Huskies had one final chance. But Anderson missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
