Elk Grove police investigating suspicious death

Elk Grove Village police are investigating a suspicious death in town, but the department would offer no other details Friday.

Police tape was seen around a house on the 1500 block of White Trail, and neighbors said officers had been on the scene since about 9:30 a.m. Friday.

Neighbors said a woman in her 70s lived in the home alone, but her son had recently lived with her. Police were called to the scene when the woman's employer grew worried that she had not shown up to work, neighbors said.

Further details are expected to be released by the department today.
