Naked Brothers movie 'Mojo' to debut Saturday
Nickelodeon's popular Naked Brothers Band produces a new hourlong movie, "Operation Mojo," debuting at 8 p.m. Saturday. Nat believes he's lost Rosalina to a French guy on a round-the-world cruise. (Unfortunately, the same night also finds the Naked Bros. playing the House of Blues downtown in real life, so set your TiVos, ticketholders.) That all sets the stage for the debut of the animated Naked Bros. special "The Supetastic 6," debuting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday on Nick.
Colbert's Christmas
Comedy Central's pretend pundit Stephen Colbert breaks out the pipe and cardigan to lampoon the traditional holiday TV special in "A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All!" Elvis Costello shows up to sing, "There Are Much Worse Things to Believe In," and Jon Stewart pops in to do, "Can I Interest You in Hannukah?" It's not Pee-wee Herman's Christmas special, but it's close enough. It's at 9 p.m. Sunday, and if you forget to record it, it's out on DVD on Tuesday.
Coming up Rosie
Rosie O'Donnell returns with the variety special "Rosie Live" at 7 p.m. Wednesday on NBC's WMAQ Channel 5. Kathy Griffin and Jane Krakowski are lined up to perform in the Thanksgiving-eve event, designed to be something along the lines of "The Carol Burnett Show." That's another good reason to turn off the TV and head out on one of the biggest bar nights of the year.
Superman's dud debut
It's well known that the debut of a superhero movie series is usually the worst of the bunch until the inevitable decay sets in. It's all the back story a screenwriter has to get through before getting to the real story. The 1978 "Superman" is illustration enough, but it does benefit from Christopher Reeve's classic romantic-hero take on Clark Kent and Gene Hackman's hammy bald turn as Lex Luthor. It's at 9 p.m. Friday on TV Land.
