Meet Jada.
A sun worshipper, Jada loves to curl up with her eyes closed and enjoy the warmth and peacefulness this brings. When she first came in about 10 years ago, she didn't really want to be around people. Being here has opened her eyes that people go to extremes to help cats like her adjust at their own pace. She now enjoys petting and brushing. Jada is looking for an adoptive or permanent foster home.
These pets are also looking for homes.
Bad luck is something that Save-A-Pet changes every day. Darley (a.k.a. Brandy) first was rescued by her guardians from a kill shelter, and life was great. Then they hit financial hardship and got evicted. This 10-year-old beagle gets along with dogs and cats.
Go Lucky was relegated to living outside or in the garage. This handsome boxer mix is about 3 ½ years old, has a caramel brindle coat and is said to be good with dogs, cats and kids.
Save-A-Pet is open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays; 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
Adoption fees are $125 for a kitten, $100 for a cat 1 year old or older, $250 for a puppy up to 7 months old, $150 for a dog 7 months to 7 years old and $125 for a dog older than 7 years.
Save-A-Pet now uses the identifying microchip on all dogs and cats entering the shelter.
