Powerbroker Cellini due in court Friday

Federal prosecutors say indicted Illinois power broker William Cellini Sr. is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.

Randall Samborn is a spokesman for U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald. Samborn says the 73-year-old Cellini is due before U.S. District Judge James Zagel at the Dirksen Federal Building in Chicago on Friday.

Cellini was indicted Oct. 30 on charges of conspiring with convicted influence peddler Antoin "Tony" Rezko to shake down an investment firm for campaign contributions to embattled Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

Cellini's defense attorney has said Cellini is "completely innocent" of the charges and has "done absolutely nothing wrong."
