Ill. woman in Kenosha court in hit-run death case

KENOSHA, Wis. _ An Illinois woman accused in the hit-run death of a bicyclist last summer has appeared in Kenosha County Circuit Court.

Forty-one-year-old Barbara Lee from Spring Grove waived her right to a preliminary hearing Thursday. She was ordered to stand trial on charges that include hit-and-run driving causing a death and homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle.

The accident Aug. 16 killed 44-year-old Gordon Kleifield of Chicago and injured a friend biking with him.

Prosecutor Richard Ginkowski says a possible plea deal in the case is not final but could provide some closure for relatives of the victims.

Lee's $100,000 cash bond has been continued. She's scheduled for arraignment Dec. 11.
