Pensions have a real impact on prices
Struggling industries such as airlines and automobile manufacturers continue to compensate retired employees who are no longer productive.
This effects everyone.
For example, buying a U.S.-built car costs hundreds of dollars more than a comparable foreign model due to pension fund expenses.
Ergo, every buyer of a domestic vehicle would contribute to the retirement compensation of others.
Now there is talk about a government bailout to assist these industries.
Meanwhile, my I.R.A. has dwindled and my wife's 401K is quickly becoming a 201K.
I have worked hard and saved all my life. Where is my bailout?
