Bush pledges to work for, with all

Thank you to the voters of District 6. I am honored to be elected to represent you on the Lake County Board. I plan to do everything I can to work on the issues that concern us as taxpayers and residents of Lake County.

I have read comments expressing concern that we are entering into partisan politics on the Lake County Board. Let me just say that during the campaign I spoke with thousands of Democrats, Independents and Republicans alike, most of whom shared similar concerns: high real estate taxes, traffic congestion, economic development, quality education and a sustainable environment.

Politics are inherently partisan but solving issues shouldn't be. These aren't partisan issues, these are real problems that present challenges that will require the county board to work together to solve them.

My congratulations to all of the candidates who won their election. I look forward to working with them.
