Suicide watch for man accused in killing

BLOOMINGTON _ McLean County jailers are on suicide watch for a 21-year-old man charged in the rape and beating death of his pregnant sister-in-law.

Jason Marksteiner of LeRoy is charged with counts of intentional homicide of an unborn child, murder and aggravated criminal sexual assault in the death of 19-year-old Jodi N. McGrew.

McLean County Sheriff Mike Emery said Friday that Marksteiner is in a high-visibility cell and receives counseling.

Autopsy results show McGrew died of blunt-force trauma to the head.

Marksteiner remains jailed on $1 million bond and will be arraigned Nov. 14.
