Church panel says Trinity U. administrator had sex with teen

A Presbyterian minister accused of sexually abusing a woman when she was a teen and tattooing her initials on his buttocks kept his job at a divinity school after the church paid the woman $150,000 last year.

A spokesman for Trinity International University in Deerfield says the Rev. Ronald Campbell resigned this month, days after a church commission found he sexually abused the girl in the 1980s while a minister in suburban Chicago.

Gary Cantwell says Campbell was allowed to keep working as an administrator for more than a year after he notified officials of the allegations. He says Campbell had a clean record at the school.

Campbell's attorney says his client denies the allegations of sexual abuse, and the lawyer says he's never been charged with a crime.
