Des Plaines bank robbed
An undisclosed amount of money was stolen in a robbery of a Des Plaines bank Thursday.
According to police, a male, 45 to 50 years of age, approximately 5-foot-6 in height, wearing blue jeans, a dark colored jacket, sun glasses and a camouflage cap walked into the Citicorp office at 1525 Ellinwood Ave. about 2:26 p.m. and showed the teller a note indicating he was robbing the bank.
The teller handed over money in the cash drawer and the offender walked out of the bank and fled the area. No weapon was displayed during the incident.
Des Plaines police and the FBI are investigating, using evidence recovered from the bank along with videotaped footage of the robbery.
