State police investigating burned body
WASHINGTON PARK -- Illinois State Police say they are investigating a suspicious death after local police in Washington Park found a charred body in a home that had been set on fire.
Police arrived at the scene Sunday afternoon shortly after the home had burned.
State Police Capt. Mark Bramlett confirmed that police located a body inside the house, but he said investigators had not determined the gender, race or age of the victim.
But Bramlett says investigators believe the victim was killed at a nearby residence and then taken to the house that was burned.
