Masked gunman robs Hoffman Estates bank
A masked gunman robbed Hoffman Estates Community Bank Wednesday afternoon and escaped with an unknown amount of cash, police said.
The man was wearing a ski mask when he entered the bank at 2497 West Golf Road with a black handgun and demanded money from a teller, police said.
The suspect was described as being between 5 foot 7 inches to 5 foot 10 inches tall, medium build, in his 20s, wearing a red ski-type jacket with a Marlboro logo. He fled the scene on foot.
The Federal Bureau of Investigations is helping with the investigation, police said.
