Santa Claus coming to St. Charles on Friday
Downtown St. Charles Partnership sources at the North Pole have reported that Santa Claus will be coming to St. Charles at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28 for the first of several pre-Christmas visits. He will appear at Lincoln Park on Main Street between Fourth and Fifth streets, where he will make his grand arrival in downtown St. Charles for the Lighting of the Lights ceremony.
During this initial visit, Mr. Claus will be available for photographs, but will not be meeting with area children. Elves representing Mr. Claus have stated that local families can bring their cameras to this event, but that they should come back to see Santa during his official visiting hours.
The elf representatives report that Mr. Claus will be available to visit with children in his St. Charles "Santa House" in Lincoln Park from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29 and Sunday, Nov. 30. He will also be there every weekend from noon to 4 p.m., through Dec. 21. It is during those hours that area children are invited to bring their "wish lists" and meet with Mr. Claus one-on-one.
Lighting of the Lights and the Santa House are part of the Downtown St. Charles Partnership's Holiday Homecoming, Nov. 28-29. To learn more, visit www.dtown.org or call (630) 513-5386.
