"Change" better known as socialism
It is interesting to see suburban neighbors proudly displaying signs in support of assorted Democrats.
"Change" and "hope" may be an effective sound bite when it comes to the effort to turn DuPage County "blue." but I have a simple question: What is it about the Democrats' rule over the city of Chicago, Cook County, Springfield and even the U.S. Congress that my neighbors wish to bring to our area and even the White House? Is it the failing schools? Is it the "pay-to-play" corruption and special union preferences that drive away businesses and increase the cost of government? Is it the patronage and nepotism when choosing bureaucrats and leaders? Is it the out-of-control earmarks and budgets where the first cuts are always policemen or parks? Is it the high crime rate? Or does the highest sales tax rate in the country appeal to you? Is it the ready availability of an abortion mill or strip club in your backyard? Should we jettison Metra and Pace for the efficiency of the CTA?
Let's say that a stranger suddenly shows up at your house after he has completely trashed his. He wants to move in and brings along his pals (Richie, Rod and Barack) to help you "redistribute" your household finances. Get the message? Past actions and written party platforms speak louder than vague promises to give you things paid for by others (i.e. taxes).
Someone once said that "people get the government that they deserve." Be careful what you "hope" for because their "change" is more commonly known as socialism.
